Today, we completed the draft edit of our Thriller film opening.
We all shared the role of editing the film and did so with great success. We tried many different ideas, some of which we were quite fond of (such as the sound bridge during the phone call) and others we weren't so keen on once we had tried it, like the idea of using split screen.
Overall I am very happy with our draft. In order to improve our opening further, I am now very keen on showing our film to a target audience and filming their reactions in order to see what they think of the film. I would like to, along with my group, get feedback on how we could improve our opening further in order to make sure it appeals to our target audience.
We also still need to come up with a title for our film; this is something that we have really struggled with since the beginning of planning for our opening.
Most importantly, we now need to begin to embed titles into our film. This is something we have been testing over the last few days, but we have not done anything properly yet and this is something we are going to have to work on after the Christmas holidays.
I will upload our draft edit after the Christmas holidays when we return to Sixth Form on Tuesday, 7th January. This is when we will begin to collect audience feedback.
Here is my favourite Thriller advert for you to enjoy whilst we go on our Christmas break.

Filming Update
Today we started the filming for the second sequence of our thriller opening.
We filmed this part at James' house and I feel we achieved a lot of the footage needed. We got a lot of good shots at different angles which will be helpful in the editing process when it comes down to deciding which ones work best.
We will start editing our footage tomorrow and seeing how it fits in with our first sequence. We will then look at adding the sound (which I'm mainly in charge of) and seeing how we can play around with the clips by changing the colours and diegetic sound.
Overall I think we made a big progress in the making of our thriller opening today, and I'm excited to get the editing process started!
