16th October Lesson - Lesson

Presenting our Thriller Film
In this lesson we started to plan an idea for our film and threw a few of everyones ideas together to come up with a rough idea. We then had to create a presentation to present to the rest of the class and develop our idea further.

When creating a presentation the elements we had to include were -

  • The Narrative Outline
  • Explain the ideas/messages that we wanted to explore in our film
  • How we will appeal to our target audience and how we will achieve this
  • Practical Details (what the film involves in terms of time, people, location, equipment etc)
  • The Thriller Film Conventions we may use (lighting, sound, camera shots etc

After we had discussed and planned all of this we then put it all into a powerpoint presentation which we are going to present to the rest of the class.

After this, we had a bit of time to spare so we decided to start our audience research and created an online survey asking people about what kinds of thriller films they enjoy etc. The questions we asked were -
  • What is your favorite thriller film?
  • What do you think makes a thriller film scary?
  • Who would be the scariest person to capture someone?
  • Would it be scarier to be killed in public or alone?
  • What is the scariest location for a thriller film to take place?
  • What is the difference between a thriller and a horror film?
After this, we posted the survey to facebook and twitter and are waiting for people to answer.
